DEPARTMENT OF BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES
AOMA’s biomedical sciences curriculum is clinically based and provides a practical foundation in the concepts and diagnostic techniques of biomedicine, enabling them to interface successfully with allopathic practitioners. It is intended to provide students with a biomedical foundation applicable to Oriental medical practice that enhances their ability to communicate with patients and other practitioners regarding biomedical diagnoses and treatment plans. Anatomy and physiology, pathophysiology, pharmacology, and physical assessment provide a solid underpinning upon which to build diagnostic and treatment skills that integrate Western and Eastern medical practices.
The Department of Biomedical Sciences is directed by Raja Mandyam, MD.
Department of Biomedical Sciences Mission Statement:
The Department of Biomedical Sciences is committed to the pursuit of excellence, integrity, and quality demonstration and instruction in the modern biomedical science theories and their applications in a modern Oriental Medical practice.
