TRAINING IN RESEARCH IN INTEGRATIVE MEDICINE-POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP PROGRAM
The UCSF Osher Center for Integrative Medicine is now recruiting for a postdoctoral fellowship position to begin in July 2010. The application deadline is February 1, 2010.
The UCSF Osher Center’s Training in Research in Integrative Medicine (TRIM), is a NIH Funded T-32 post-doctoral fellowship program. Trainees are hired for a three-year interdisciplinary program designed for physicians, behavioral and social scientists, and doctoral level practitioners of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). The program consists of required seminars and formal course work, individual mentoring, research and creative activity, elective seminars and classes, teaching, and a number of optional activities. Trainees are strongly encouraged to undertake coursework in the ATCR/TICR program. Information about that program is available here.

Roxborough Community Acupuncture is looking for a part-time acupuncturist (three 4-hour shifts) to hopefully begin working by October. We are a thriving, rapidly growing Community Acupuncture clinic.

We are seeking an individual willing to learn new techniques and establish a clinic in Nederland, Texas.
The candidate will train with Dr. Donald Snow, DAOM, LAc, for 3 – 6 months. Dr. Snow is currently experiencing unprecedented results using his proprietary
techniques which integrate high‐tech western technologies with oriental medicine. Patent applications for these techniques are forthcoming.
The candidate will serve as a licensed acupuncturist and supervise up to four assistants / technicians and a receptionist.
Upon completion of two years of service, the candidate may re‐locate to other AIMS locations in accordance with our expansion plans.
Compensation during training in Lake Charles will be competitive. Compensation in the new location will include a base salary plus a bonus based on performance and collections. We expect candidates to earn $10,000 – $15,000 per month within the first two years. Of course, there can be no guarantees of performance and collections.

Acupuncture Fellowship Program, 2009 - 2010, Beth Israel Medical Center, New York, NY
The Department of Integrative Medicine at Beth Israel Medical Center is accepting applications for the 2009-2010 term of its Fellowship Training Program in Acupuncture and Inpatient Care. The program is open to qualified Licensed Acupuncturists who have an interest in integrative medicine, in the development of research and in advancing standards of acupuncture practice to include inpatient and hospital-based care.
The Acupuncture Fellowship began in the fall of 2008. Currently the program offers opportunities for Fellows to provide inpatient acupuncture in the Department of Surgery, Cardiology, Family Medicine and Internal Medicine, and outpatient acupuncture for Pain and Palliative Medicine, Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation. The program is developing sites with Orthopedic Medicine and Labor and Delivery.The goal of the program is not only to offer acupuncture to inpatients but to develop research across disciplines to clarify the role of acupuncture in hospital-based care.
Acupuncture Fellows work a minimum of 2 four hour shifts per week providing acupuncture to patients at Beth Israel Medical Center. Fellows are also involved in research development by identifying areas of potential study, contextualizing through literature searches, study writing that meets Institutional Review Board (IRB) standards, and preparation of articles for medical journal publication.
Fellows will also participate in Beth Israel Medical Center’s Physician Faculty Fellowship program in Integrative Medicine that includes both seminar style lectures by specialists in various fields related to integrative medicine, as well as on-site hospital rounds discussion of patient care. The lectures, rounds and research development are expected to require an additional 4 hours a week for 12 hours in total. The program is designed to allow Acupuncture Fellows to continue work in their own private practices while participating in the training program. Fellows will be expected to work in teams toward developing a research project during their tenure with the program.
The term of the program is one year with start dates in September 2009 and January 2010. Other start dates may be possible depending on department availability. Tuition for the fellowship training is $4,500.00.
The program is directed by Arya Nielsen, PhD. Doctor Nielsen has been practicing acupuncture for 33 years, the last 12 in an integrative medical setting. She has an academic research Doctorate in Interdisciplinary Studies and Philosophies of Medicine with a specialization in integrative clinical science and health care.
