Intro to Toyohari Training Program
07/23/2008Classroom B
12:45-1:45pm
Juliana will give information about the up coming Toyohari course that is to take place in Austin. The course is a total of eighteen (18) days, spread out over 9 months. Juliana will describe the techniques used and address what constitutes meridian therapy as used in the Toyohari Medical Association. This is an opportunity for students at AOMA to ask questions about the course and the Toyohari style of acupuncture. Toyo Hari is based on the Nanjing and classical meridian therapy. Today, it is practiced by blind and sighted alike. Juliana will discuss the factors that contributed to the creation of this style, and provide information about the practice of meridian therapy in Japan and in the west.
Juliana Cumbo is a recent graduate of AOMA. While completing course-work at AOMA, she also completed the Toyo Hari Medical Association program. In addition, she attended the Toyo Hari international program in Tokyo. This was a unique experience, as many of the teachers, and members in Japan are blind. She would like to share what she learned, from this course, with others who may be interested to practice this style of acupuncture and complete further study in Japan.
