Tung’s Points with Susan Johnson

Master Tung Ching-chang has been referred to as “The greatest acupuncture technician who ever lived.” He was a traditional Chinese physician from the Shandong Province in Northern China and was famous for the miraculous and spontaneous results he would obtain using just a few needles. The points in Master Tung’s system do not trace their origin to the Yellow Emperor’s Internal Classic. It is an entirely separate system kept alive and perfected by the Tung family over many centuries.

October 30-November 1, 2009 - Advanced 1

December 4-6, 2009 - Advanced 2

19.5 CAE hours per weekend; 39 CAE hours for the whole series
Workshop hours: 10:00am-6:00pm with lunch from 1:00-2:30pm

The Advanced Series of Master Tung's Magic Points consists of two 3-day weekends, Friday through Sunday (six days in all).

On each of the two Fridays in the Advanced Series, we study Master Tung's Magic Points by disease rather than location. This class is critical for learning point combinations, and provides differential disease diagnosis using Tung's Points. Each of the two Saturdays in the Advanced Series offers a rare opportunity to receive supervised training on point location and needling technique. This is attendees' favorite class; it's fun and extremely valuable in ensuring that your point location is correct. Students become true practitioners of Tung's system after taking this class. Each of the two Sundays in the Advanced Series consists of workshops on "Advanced Techniques." The Sunday of the first weekend of the Advanced Series is "The Ancient Art and Science of Cupping." Susan offers detailed instructions on when to use cupping patterns. The class includes precise anatomical descriptions of muscle groups and how they are best cupped, as well as demonstration, diagrams, and some guided practice. The cupping class may be taken separately from the rest of the series, and is open to the public. The Sunday of the second Advanced Techniques weekend is by invitation only.
