Community Clinics
AOMA strives to offer variety of settings and patients to the clinical training experience of our learners. Each term, several clinics in various settings are organized. These may range from doing free treatments in local nursing homes to free or discounted treatments in community clinics located in needy areas. Please email if you have interest in our off-site clinic programs or have recommendations for new clinic locations.
- Heritage Duval Gardens Nursing home – In 2000, The AOMA Student Clinic began to offer their first free community outreach clinic in the Heritage Duval Gardens Nursing home located at5310 W Duval, Austin TX 78727, (512) 345-1805. Here, the AOMA student interns have the opportunity to treat a variety of geriatric ailments from Duval Gardens residence that may not be available to them at the campus locations.
- People’s Community Clinic - In 2004, the AOMA Student Clinic expanded their treatment options by adding the free-of-charge acupuncture clinic inside of the People’s Community Clinic located in East Austin at 2909 N. IH 35 Austin, TX 78722, (512) 478-4939. Here, low income patients may be referred by their western medical practitioner for free acupuncture treatments by AOMA student interns. This clinic is currently offered on Wednesday evening & appointments may be schedule through the People’s Community Clinic.
- Seton Hospital’s Topfer Community Clinic – In 2006, the AOMA Student Clinic expanded their treatment options again by adding the low cost acupuncture clinic inside of the Seton Topfer Community Clinic in North Austin at 8913 Collinfield Road, Austin, TX 78758-6704 (512) 324-6850. Here, low income patients may be referred by their western medical practitioner for $5 acupuncture treatments by AOMA student interns. This clinic is currently offered on Thursday evening & appointments may be scheduled through the Seton Topfer Community Health Center.
- GoodHealth Commons at Seton Medical Center Williamson Campus – In joint collaboration with a number of like minded treatment and educational providers, we will be offering treatments and yoga and qigong classes to the public in a truly holistic setting with a potential for post graduate studies to come. Acupuncture appointments and movement classes available to the public all day Wednesday. Call 512-324-4803 for additional information about scheduling.
