Acupuncture for Men's Health

The benefits of acupuncture are widespread across the sexes; however, in terms of health, men and women are not necessarily equal! Studies by the National Center of Health Statistics show that men die at a faster rate than women, die at a younger age than women, and are more burdened by illness during life.

Erectile dysfunction and premature ejaculation have become global health issues with high prevalence and considerable impact on the quality of life of sufferers and their partners. Many studies show that traditional Chinese medical treatment can significantly improve a patient’s quality of erection and sexual activity.

Many health issues that disproportionately affect men respond extremely well to acupuncture, such as high blood pressure, stroke, diabetes, and kidney disease. Research has shown that acupuncture needles inserted in specific points can stimulate nerve cells that reach into the parts of the brain that control blood pressure; when those areas “quiet down,” blood vessels relax and blood pressure lowers.

Some of the other men’s health conditions that acupuncture can help with include BPH, prostatitis, prostate cancer symptoms, Peyronie’s disease, frequent/painful urination, painful genitals, and pelvic floor dysfunction.

Acupuncture, the most well-known traditional Chinese medical procedure, is the practice of inserting thin needles into the body at specific points to relieve pain or treat a disease. Acupuncture triggers spontaneous healing reactions in the body, and scientific studies have proven its efficacy for treating inflammation, pain, depression and a host of other disorders.
